Lessons from failures

robin shaw
Failure is a close frined of ours. It visits us very often and expresses its oneside love. We have to analyse and know more about our this shyless friend. Robin Sharma wrote a book "The Greatness Guide" where he also discusses about the failures and the significance and importance of failures in the life. Robin sharma is one of the world's top success coaches and he will be coaching big organizations like NASA, Wyeth,Mircosoft, Nike,FedEx etc. Robin sharma is author of another best seller "The monk who sold his Ferrari". Incidentally, robert kiyosaki also dwells on the same idea of learning from failures and taking a failure as a part of success strategy.Robin Sharma says "nothing fails like success". When you succeed, you get complacency, arrogance and that starts loosing the success again. Downslide starts. Why people , after succeeding , would not try new methods. Because of fear of failure. They are afraid of loosiing what they have. But this itself is a secret enemy which push you down. He advises to constantly innovate, try new methods, improvise your methods and operations. Fear of failure prevents us from attempting a lot of things. Without attempting it, you can never have it in life. Robert kiyosaki says that only after falling down many times, we learnt cycling. Only after tubling down, we started walking. If we are afraid of these things, we can never walk nor ride a bycycle. As per kiyosaki, the present education system is such that it prevents failure, it always want to succeed. Without failures, success is not possible. A successful business man will deinitely have two to three failures behind him. Rich dad says that unless you fail in three businesses, you can not have a successful business, to be proud of. Robin sharma suggests anyone can become genius and proposes a formula to achieve it. The formula is Focus+Daily improvement+Time=Genius. You have to identify the merits in you, polish them. Focus on them, and daily improve it . In a span of 3 to 5 years, you would be a great person in that area. What is failure? Failure is not achieving what is originally meant for that operation. A rocket fails in the middle and burns in the sky. A film fails to achieve grand success. These are examples of failures in day to day life. But the deciding factor behind a failure is the motive, or objective only. If the rocket is aimed at burning in the sky, then the above even would be a success. If the film is made with a bet that it wont cross the gross collection so and so, then it is success and the producer wins the bet. So, the failure can also be a success by changing our view or the deciding factor or yardstick. A student failed in the exam. On re evaluation, he got few more marks added (fault in sub totalling) and he passed. His old answer script only passed him. Or if the examination board lowered the pass mark, then this student would pass, making his failure into pass. Here he has not done any additional work or changed any thing in the event or process. The yard stick has been changed. The motto, object has been revised. Thus A failure may be the other side of a coin. If you go on tossing, heads will definitely come.
